POETIC VERSES COLLECTION
Raising Up A Child
Through their sacrifice,
we get to sample the sovereignty of the Lord
That is
the spirit of a mother
I learned God's capabilities through
the characteristics of a mother
The endless capacity of long suffer
The fight and fervor
The faith of affordability
while she’s applying for food stamps
There’s a long line of sacrifice she should stood in Just for you to be the recipients
of Gods provision
I witnessed her weary soul in the workforce
Two jobs, overtime
To then come home
time and time again,
to put food on the table
She prays to the Lord who’s more than able
To renew her strength
Her love
will run the length of your life
Pointing you to Christ
As she raises her right hand to Lord
Like Boyyyyyy, you better get your act together
I worked too hard for you to lose that scholarship
I prayed too hard for you to choose poison
over Gods promises
The word promises
long life to those that honor this
Faithful Mother
In other words
There’s a blessing in her seed of labor
The pain is just evidence
that what she breeds is greater
And wasn’t it a MOTHER-
that carried the seed of our savior?
Those that raise up a child in the way they should go
Until high school graduations
and away they should go
But just know
These mothers don’t ever stop praying
They’re called to be intercessors
They intercept the evil
and pray Gods mercy and protection over your body
They’re the bodyguards of your salvation
Like Jesus,
they bear the scars of your salvation
Thank God for Abraham
but these Queens
Are the mothers of the nation
And they deserve
congratulations
For they are…
The Summation
Of The Lord’s Patience!
Sunday
Dinner
It’s time to get back to Sunday dinner
It brings about family dynamic
It blends hearts and breeds structure
A simple gesture of love
to balance out our different complexities
Different walks of life and destinies
gathering over dinner plates
The aroma of support sizzling in the air
A moment of silence for those that could not be here
A moment to share what’s on your heart with a table full of ears
that share your burdens
As tears of joy fall on the tablecloth
Due to laughter
Hearts are light and bellies are full
We partake in communion
To remember
We’re charged to break bread with our members
of this family
At this table,
there’s struggle and strength
At this table
there’s a message of grace
An appetite for joy
And a measure of faith
At this table
You’re not remembered for your wrongdoings and flaws
At this table
You are accepted because we once were all lost
But Jesus paid the cost with his own life
As a sacrifice for you
to be at this table
See you
are seated in the place of mercy
Soul thirsty
Our righteousness is of filthy rags
That napkin is supposed to be dirty
Stop focusing on eating cute around family and get your fill
It’s His will to satisfy your hunger
Within this meal
contains miracles signs and wonders
And I wonder
where would we be
if not
at this table?
